Social promo for Nando’s UK in partnership with Time Out London. Produced, filmed and edited by Dreaming Fish Productions.

The client and the brief
At the end of 2024, our good friends Time Out London, reached out to DreamingFish with an exciting challenge: to produce a social-first video campaign featuring the brilliant actor and comedian, Munya Chawawa. The brief? Help Nando’s UK promote their Extra Hot Comedy Club: a fiery series of live comedy shows, with upcoming comedians, hosted inside Nandoβs restaurants all across the UK. To get the word out, a high-energy social promo was the ultimate recipe…πποΈπ₯π₯
Known for his sharp, satirical videos, Munya collaborated with Time Out to develop a script that stayed true to his distinctive comedic voice while weaving in clever jokes around several cultural references, while also nodding to Nandoβs Extra Hot Comedy Club campaign. The key creative challenge was balancing a formal broadcast aesthetic with Munya’s unique meme-driven humour. A challenge we were well and truly up for!
The project
Given Munyaβs London base and jam-packed schedule, we secured a green screen studio in Willesden Green and built a minimal but flexible set around a central lectern, to give the video that prime-minister-like delivery. A prop lectern was hired from a West London supplier, to later be branded with Munya’s name and applied graphics for both Time Out and Nandoβs. Filming took place in early January 2025 and was attended by the Nando’s UK team and Time Out representatives, ensuring real-time feedback and alignment throughout the shoot.
Alongside the main scripted performance, we also captured extensive B-roll of Munya leaning into current internet memes, topical references and exaggerated character moments, in order to expand the editβs creative options in post production.

The production and delivery
With a successful shoot day under our belts, the edit phase is where the project fully came to life. We designed and created a stylised AI-generated environment behind Munya, transforming the green screen into a satirical governmental backdrop. Subtle flag motifs and architectural cues were introduced, throughout the video, to reinforce the βofficial addressβ tone while maintaining a deliberately exaggerated, comedic feel. In post-production, we layered in:
- Dynamic background motion and VFX enhancements
- Meme-led cutaways and reaction inserts
- Fast-paced editing
- Comedic timing refinements drawn from the B-roll material
We delivered the final video in a 9:16 vertical format, optimised especially for TikTok and Instagram audiences. The edit was designed for high engagement, quick comprehension and strong shareability across Instagram and TikTok.
Campaign insights & client testimonial
The campaign was huge success, seamlessly blending broadcast-quality production with internet-native humour. By combining studio shoots, agile post-production, and AI, we proved scalable social content can still maintain a distinctive visual identity. The reel recieved over 370k views and 213k impressions on Instagram, alongside 122k impressions on TikTok!
βThank you so much for all you and the team’s hard work throughout. We really appreciate the effort and attention to detail youβve put in.β
