From desks to the great outdoors: Our wild work day
Yesterday, we swapped our desks for the great outdoors on our first Wild Work Day with our charity partners, Surrey Wildlife Trust. πΏ
We headed to Chobham Common to roll up our sleeves and do our bit for our local wildlife. Working alongside the SWT volunteers, we cleared overgrown birch and pine trees to help maintain this beautiful landscape, in order to create a thriving habitat for the local wildlife.
As a video production company, we spend a lot of time behind the lens or at our desks. So, when the opportunity came up to contribute to something meaningful, it was a welcome change. Additionally, it was a great way to get some fresh air and bring the team together outside the office. It was refreshing to take on a different kind of challenge and make a real contribution to our local community.
A parternship
Our partnership with Surrey Wildlife Trust gives us the opportunity to support, protect and restore the natural environment around us. Days like this are a brilliant reminder that getting stuck in for a few hours, can play a part in a much bigger effort to look after the places we all share.
We’re all feeling a little sore today (turns out tree cutting and clearing is a pretty good workout!), but we’d do it all again. Our first wild work day was a fantastic experience. We’d definitely recommend getting out there and giving something back.π²πͺ΅π³
A big thank you to Will and the Surrey Wildlife Trust team for having us. Weβre already looking forward to the next opportunity to get involved! Find out more about Surrey Wildlife Trust and the work they do to protect wildlife and wild places across Surrey.
