Promotional brand film created for identity management company, IndyKite. Produced, filmed and edited by Dreaming Fish Productions.
The client and the brief
IndyKite is a software company that offers a cloud identity platform designed to centrally manage and monitor identity and business data flow, use, and accuracy across an organisation. The team at IndyKite were looking to create a live-action brand video to use on their website to explain what the company is and the benefits that their software can deliver.
The delivery
The DreamingFish team created a script that showcased IndyKiteโs value proposition in a fun and quirky way that truly reflected the brand. The concept we used was based on the idea that most companies donโt fully maximise the value of their identity data, which is like only doing half the job. We focussed on what only โdoing things by halvesโ in other things would look like such as putting on make-up, eating a burger, running a race or riding a bike.๐๐๐โโ๏ธ๐ดโโ๏ธ
The approach and script were agreed with the team at IndyKite and then we began the process of identifying locations, talent and props. We needed a number of different locations including a restaurant, a bedroom (decorated as if it was the 80s), a road and a running track, along with a number of different actors and some IndyKite-coloured props including a running shirt, a bike helmet and a whole bunch of 80s paraphernalia. We also needed to use some stock footage as one scene required a more extreme approach: what happens if you do half a job packing your parachute?! ๐ช Filming took place over a week and we cut the resulting footage together with the stock footage of the parachutist. We also added some graphics over the cycling scenes to illustrate the usage of the identity data.
Impact/Outcomes
“The video was launched on the IndyKite website and YouTube channel, where it has received 44k views. We had a great deal of anecdotal feedback that the video was well received, and its standout nature meant that it had a higher level of impact than we were anticipating.”
– Fraser Wallace, Field Marketing at IndyKite.
