The client
Tree Aid are a great charity, based in Bristol, who do wonderful work in tackling poverty and protecting the environment in the drylands of Africa, focusing on Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, Niger and Ethiopia. They help create sustainable communities, planting trees that can be eaten, provide shade, enhance the soil and provide a means of income. The work that Tree Aid do resonates with our company values and we are proud to have them as one of our 3 charity partners. For roughly 4 years, we’ve been making monthly donations as well as one-off payments whenever we sign/win a new client to show our ongoing support.
The project: Ghana winter appeal promo
The guys at Tree Aid got in touch with us in October 2022 with a project that they needed our help with. With a new fundraising appeal kicking off in November, they were after a 2 minute promotional film for use on YouTube and across their social channels that would tell the stories of the farmers who grow cashew trees using sustainable farming techniques in Ghana.
This sounded like a great concept and we were more than happy to assist Tree Aid with their winter appeal. Using the script and footage provided and written by the Tree Aid team, our assistant producer, Lucy, got started on piecing the edit together. The promo was led by a interview with Ayishetu Soale, one of the cashew farmers, accompanied by the voiceover of the famous British actress and Tree Aid patron, Adjoa Andoh.
Accompanied by graphics designed to fit the rest of Tree Aid’s campaign, we also created a square 60second cutdown of the 16:9 version for use on social media platforms. The promotional video was a great success and since it’s release, it’s had 6.2K views to date. Check it out below!
Client testimonial
“It was great to have the opportunity to work with our partners Dreaming Fish again during our 2022 winter appeal. From planning to delivery, Lucy & Phil were really engaged and supportive, working quickly to develop our ideas into a fantastic and captivating short film which we were proud to use to launch our appeal. Despite a number of complex moving parts at our end (including translated footage and an external voiceover), the team were really patient with us and were able to deliver something really impressive despite our tight turnaround time. Thanks so much, we’re looking forward to working with you again in future!”
