The client
Tree Aid are a great charity, based in Bristol, who do wonderful work in tackling poverty and protecting the environment. They work around the drylands of Africa; focusing on Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, Niger and Ethiopia. They help create sustainable communities, planting trees that can be eaten, provide shade, enhance the soil and provide a means of income. The work that Tree Aid do resonates with our company values and we are proud to have them as one of our 3 charity partners. For roughly 4 years, we’ve been making monthly donations as well as one-off payments whenever we sign/win a new client to show our ongoing support.
The project
Tree Aid contacted us in October 2022 with a project that they needed our help with. With a new fundraising appeal kicking off in November, they were after a 2 minute promotional film. The video would share stories of Ghanaian farmers who grow cashews using sustainable methods. To increase engagement, the promo would be shared on Tree Aid’s YouTube, as well as other social channels.
This sounded like a great project and we were super keen to support Tree Aid. Using Tree Aid’s provided script and footage, our Assistant Producer, Lucy, began assembling the edit. The promo featured an interview with cashew farmer Ayishetu Soale, voiced by British actress and Tree Aid patron Adjoa Andoh. In addition to the 16-9 version, we also produced a 60-second square version, with campaign-aligned graphics, for use on social media. The promotional video was a great success and since it’s release, it’s had 6.2K views to date. Check it out below!
