Case study video for Three UK to showcase their partnership with Samaritans. Produced, filmed and edited by Dreaming Fish Productions.
The project
Over the summer, our friends at Three UK got in touch with us to help them with a new video project. After a call, we knew exactly what they were after; a case-study-like video centred around their corporate partnership with the charity, Samaritans. Since April 2021, Three UK have supported the Samaritans by aiding them with training, resources and donations. Having worked with Three UK on several projects before, we were eager to work with them again to tell this story. Earlier this year, the Samaritans, who provide 24/7 support to those who are struggling and need someone to talk to/listen, celebrated their 70 year anniversary. Within this time, the charity’s 23,000+ volunteers (in 2022) have answered 134 millions life-saving and life-changing calls. To help mark this fantastic achievement, Three UK wanted a video to capture the importance of the Samaritan’s vital service and support. And, that’s when we came in…
The production
With a beautiful office and plenty of surrounding outdoor space, we decided to film this video at Three’s headquarters in Reading (check out the BTS shots below!). We interviewed Sonya, the Executive Director of Engagement at Samaritans, Elaine, the Chief Commercial Officer for Three UK & Ireland, Michael, a Samaritan’s volunteer and perhaps mostly importantly, Jason; who shared his personal experience with the charity and how they helped save his life. With 4 different speakers, we ensured that we set up each interview in a new location around the Three building so our shots would be varied.
Each interviewee spoke about this partnership in there own unique way and Jason was very open about his struggles and how the Samaritans where there for him in his time of great need: βI guess it was probably the lowest point in my life. Iβd gone through redundancy, divorce, and bereavement. It got to a place where I was feeling a lot of pain and overwhelming, and no hope or purpose. Thatβs when I knew that I was really in a bad place and that I needed to reach out for support. I found the strength internally to talk about my problems, to share my problems. I think that one phone call to Samaritans set me on a new path.β
The final video
We’re really proud to share this video and wanted to say a big thank you Three UK and everyone involved, especially to the Samaritans charity who have saved so many lives. If you or anyone you know is struggling, please reach out to a member of the Samaritans team today. This project is and will remain very special to us. ππ For more information on this collaboration, head over to Three’s press release to learn more.
FAQS about case study video production
How long does it take to produce a case study video?
The production timeline of a case study video depends on a range of different components like video length, stylistic approach and client feedback. At DreamingFish we usually work to a 2-3 week turnaround time from pre production to post – however if you have a specific deadline in mind, let us know when you first get in touch and we’ll make sure we achieve it.
Can a case study video be an animation?
If you think an animated case study would better suit your brand, go for it! Animated case studies can be a powerful tool to convey your message in an engaging, creative, and effective way to your audiences. Additionally, whether you opt for a 2D or 3D approach, animation allows for more creative freedom and flexibility in storytelling, facilitating abstract ideas and scenarios that might be difficult to capture with live-action footage.
