The project
A few weeks ago, we were approached by UK social change and reforestation charity, TreeSisters, to help film their upcoming #RootedInEthics event which was taking place in Oxford. With ‘we care’ being one of our core company values (along with also supporting our charity partner, Tree Aid) we were super keen to help out on this project. TreeSisters needed us to film the event in its entirety; capturing a mixture of b-roll of people networking, a special ceremony led by Mindahi Bastida of the Otomi-Toltec of Central Mexico and co-author, along with some testimonials from their partners. The footage we filmed would later be edited by the TreeSisters team and used as marketing material to be shared with their charity partners, on their website and across social media platforms. After a few calls with the TreeSisters team and the job won, we got to work on the schedule/production plan for the night!
The event 🌱
In order to make sure we covered all angles and everything happening during the event (ceremony, testimonials/voxpops etc) we opted for a 3x camera set up which consisted of:
• 1x static tripod camera which would capture the speaker during the ceremony, 2x lapel mics to ensure we had clean audio to the camera
• 1x roaming wireless camera to capture highlights of the event – filming 25fps (real-time)
• 1x stills camera to capture photographs from the overall event and any team photos

Can I request specific shots or coverage of the event?
Absolutely! In fact, this is something we strongly encourage. Before the day of the event, we’ll talk to you about your desired shots and we’ll write up a shot list so that when the event comes, our crew know exactly what they need to film and capture.
